I would like to say that every one of our children here in America has a place to call home. But sadly this is not the case. As our economy has slipped downwards, so has our sense of morals in "Helping the least of These". We do not have to go far to see what has become of the many families hit heavily by the downward spiral.

We do know however, what the right thing to do is. What we lack is the knowledge and guidance to act. Of course not everyone wishes to do the right thing. Yet I believe more people would do something if they took the time to educate themselves.

Somehow we just think that it is not our problem. There are many myths and un-truths that we believe about homelessness here in America. Please go to our Homeless page to find out the truth.

People who have been forced out of work, devoured by hungry greed in our country, or simply out paced by our fast paced lifestyle, have all come to the realization that prosperity is just not in the cards for them.

Than I recalled the saying "The least of these"

Who are the least of these? Jesus said that if you have done it to the least of these you have done it onto me.

"For I was hungry, and you fed me. I was thirsty, and you gave me a drink. I was a stranger, and you invited me into your home. I was naked, and you gave me clothing. I was sick, and you cared for me. I was in prison, and you visited me.'

In Matthew Chapter 25:35,36 Jesus explains who the least of these are. I would like to take special note of  "I was a stranger and you invited me into your home." Now he did not say I was a stranger and you sent me to the shelter, or I was a stranger and you supplied me with a tent. No He spoke more personal than that. He simply said "you invited me into your home."

I have had experiences where I  opened my home up to strangers. I have to admit that sometimes it was trying. Yet I would do it again just the same. Our society, in my opinion, are fearful of strangers. I suppose that the fear is warranted to some degree but I also understand that ignorance and selfishness plays a huge part also. Many of us live in homes with vacant bedrooms or even whole sections of living space unoccupied. We could put a dent in homelessness if we invited them into our home. I invite you to educate yourself to the world of the homeless and see if they remain strangers. Please visit my homeless information page To gain a better understanding what you can do right now, in your community, with Your resources. The measure of any society is how it treats its weakest element. Our own measure is the same. How do you measure Up?

I Try Not To Be Political....But:

On this issue I just cannot restrain myself.

I have been a republican all my life. I have believed that to be a respectable Christian that is just the view you should have. Than I really read the Bible. I mean really read it!! Not just believed the things I have been told over the years, or just go along with the "religious" crowd. You see if we really believe in the pages of the Bible are the inspired word of God, than you can not help but see the truth! Jesus never campaigned on family values or abortion. He never questioned if a prostitute should be stoned. He simply said:

"Then the King will say to those on his right, 'Come, you who are blessed by my Father; take your inheritance, the kingdom prepared for you since the creation of the world. For I was hungry, and you gave me something to eat, I was thirsty and you gave me something to drink, "I was a stranger and you invited me in, I needed clothes and you clothed me, I was sick and you looked after me, I was in prison and you came to visit me.' "Then the righteous will answer him, 'Lord, when did we see you hungry and feed you, or thirsty and give you something to drink? When did we see you a stranger and invite you in, or needing clothes and clothe you? When did we see you sick or in prison and go to visit you." And Jesus simply said, "When you have done it to the least of these you have done it to me." What have we (republican party) done for the least of these?

Now that is the exact opposite of what "republicans" at least the controlling party, believe today. Many do not want to feed the hungry, or give them fresh water, they don't want to invite the stranger in (the borders) they don't want to cloths the poor. Sounds to much like welfare. If you truly, I mean truly believe what Jesus says than I can't understand why "Christians" cannot see through the wolves' masks. Those who use the name of God for their own greed and power. Sadly, it's a shame that we use "God" to try to show others how righteous we are. Its not what you say that is important, it's what you do. Love one another not shoot them, Help the stranger, open your doors, stretch out your hand. Just something to think about. Jesus said, "Now Go....and sin no more!".
