Taking A Byte Out Of Lies

Miracles,Did They really happen?

The Parting Of The Red Sea??

Your Q:"How about miracles? Certainly you don't believe that the miracles mentioned in the Bible actually happened."

Our A:If there is a God, then miracles are possible. If there is a God who wants to get our attention, then miracles are also logical.

If you notice, the miracles in the Bible are done in service to someone: the Red Sea parted to allow the Israelites to cross on dry land, a blind person receiving sight, a storm calmed in order to increase the faith of the disciples, etc. God doesn't merely show off by doing miracles; rather, they are part of His compassionate service toward people. The signs He had recorded in Scripture also serve a teaching purpose of His -- water changed to wine, blind people seeing, feeding with bread, walking on water, etc.

Jesus insisted that the miracles He performed were meant to verify His words. And through His words, He was saying that He was God Himself.

We should not be surprised about the stupendous things we see in the Bible. With God, all things are possible. He is the Creator of all things, and can create from nothing. He can call into existence that which did not exist before. He can make it so that a 90-year-old barren woman gives birth, or a young virgin conceives and is with child. Nothing is too difficult for the eternal God.

"Is anything too difficult for the LORD?"
Genesis 18:14
"Our God is in heaven; he does whatever pleases him."
Psalms 115:3
"I am God, and there is none like me. I make known the end from the beginning, from ancient times, what is still to come. I say: My purpose will stand, and I will do all that I please."
Isaiah 46:10
"With God all things are possible."
Matthew 19:26

IMbeggar

IMbeggar is about finding new, different, creative, positive, entertaining, hard-hitting, and most importantly, accessible ways to talk about God (without being preachy, judge-y, didactic, sappy or boring… we hope). Whether you are part of the choir, on the fringe, angry-annoyed-fallen away, still searching, or just struggling to figure it all out like the rest of us… you're in the right place. We ask the questions we all ask, address the obstacles we all face, and present an opportunity to re-consider, or maybe even re-discover, God. The door is open, the choice is yours.
