Is Jesus The Only Way?

Taking A Byte Out Of Lies

Why Do Christians Keep saying "Jesus Is The Only Way"

Q: They Say "Christianity is the 'right' one - isn't that being naive?" and besides it is pretty Arrogant! Would it not be better to include other ways to God?

Our A: We have a feature article that deals with the major differences among the different world faiths. The teachings of Jesus Christ are compared with those world faiths. Please see Connecting with the Divine. Also please see the articles in the second section of our Website "Bylines" Why Does Jesus Matter?

Is it naive? Is It Arrogant? Not if it is true. Jesus said He was the Way, the Truth, and the Life (John 14:6). Either He was telling the truth or He wasn't. If He was telling the truth, it's not naive to agree with Him.

Followers of Christ are generally assumed to be from the Western hemisphere. However, Jesus began in the Middle East and spread outward from there, throughout the whole earth. There are many believers in Africa and Asia. Currently the largest Christian church in the world is in South Korea.

Faith in Christ is not just a Western thing, though skeptics and antagonists like to paint that picture. The Bible tells us that the multitude of believers who will be in heaven will be from every tribe and people and nation and language (Revelation 7:9), and that Jesus died for the sins of people from every tribe, nation, people and tongue (Revelation 5:9).

If Jesus is in fact, God, as He said, and rose from the dead as proof, then He has given us ample reasons to believe in Him (see Beyond Blind Faith). He is not asking for a naive faith, but a knowledgeable faith in Him. And those who will believe in Jesus receive a more abundant life, direction in life, peace with God, and eternal life. Hardly an air-head decision.

More to Life: Knowing God

He wants us to know him and to experience his love, joy and peace. When we ask him into our lives, we receive his forgiveness, and we begin a relationship with him that's meant to last forever. Jesus said, "I stand at the door (of your heart) and knock. If anyone hears my voice and opens the door, I will come into him (or her)."

If this is now the desire of your heart, the following is a suggested prayer (but the words aren't as important as the attitude of your heart):

Dear God, I confess that I have sinned against you. Thank you for taking all of my sin upon yourself on the cross. I want to receive your forgiveness. I want to enter into a relationship with you. I ask you to come into my life as my Savior and Lord. Please give me the real life that comes only from you.

What Was Your Decision?

If you sincerely asked Jesus into your life just now, then he has come into your life as he promised. You have begun a personal relationship with God.

What follows is a lifelong journey of change and growth as you get to know God better through Bible reading, prayer and interaction with other Christians.

Whats next? Join me on a gospel journey. Its one thing to talk to God (prayer) and its another thing for God to talk to you (Scriptures) Lets Read The Gospel of John

IMbeggar is about finding new, different, creative, positive, entertaining, hard-hitting, and most importantly, accessible ways to talk about God (without being preachy, judge-y, didactic, sappy or boring… we hope). Whether you are part of the choir, on the fringe, angry-annoyed-fallen away, still searching, or just struggling to figure it all out like the rest of us… you're in the right place. We ask the questions we all ask, address the obstacles we all face, and present an opportunity to re-consider, or maybe even re-discover, God. The door is open, the choice is yours.
