Know The Truth And It Will Set You Free


Amazing Grace


“For all have sinned and fall short of the glory of God, and are justified freely by His grace through the redemption that came by Christ Jesus.”  Romans 3:23-24

 

Last week, while driving to work, the radio was set on my favorite station, and worship was in full tilt I began thinking about God’s grace.  Because I grew up attending church, I have heard about, sang about, and wrote about His grace in the past.  Yet in this moment, as I was in the middle of expressive worship, I was more grateful than ever before for this gift that I don’t deserve, but I get to enjoy. 


See, it is God’s grace that allows me to come close to Him.

 

 

It is His grace that pronounces me forgiven.

 

 

It is His grace that offers me hope that God is not finished with me yet and on the right path. 

 

 

For much of my life I have tried on my own to live up to a higher standard and because I am a perfectionist, I have let disappointment floor me when I came up short.  But, God is trying to teach me about His grace.  And, if I really get it in my heart, I will live differently, walk taller, and receive God’s love more willingly.  When I understand His grace, I can admit that I am not perfect and let His grace make up the difference.

 

 

If you are like me, then you need to join me in asking God to reveal His grace to you. It is after all this grace that justifies you, offers you security, and will give you the ability to keep going when you want to give up. 

 

 

If you are hard on yourself, struggle to receive God’s love, or innately think you have to work harder to win God’s approval why don’t you take a moment to pray the following prayer and let it help you be dive deeper into God’s grace.

 

 

"Lord Jesus, thank you for your free gift of grace that I do not deserve but get to enjoy. Thank you for saving me by your grace and forgiving me for all of the wrong that I have done.  I know that your grace has embraced me and I choose to embrace your grace.  Teach me to trust it as I learn to trust you and teach me to forgive myself as you have forgiven me. In the wonderful name of Jesus I pray. Amen.”
